So our outreach locations were given to us through this video yesterday! Took the day to pray about where God is calling each of us. Hard. Stressful. But it shouldn't be that way. As some of the girls and I were talking, something that we kept being reminded of is that God has been preparing our hearts for this decision. Our picks don't just ride on this 24-hours we get to think about it. Sometimes when we go to God about big decisions we feel rushed and the need for God to specifically give us a word or a sign. But that is not how He works. He doesn't speak to us only when we need it or when it's convenient. He wants us to constantly be seeking his advice daily. I felt like I was trying to hard to get a country in my mind of where to go. Other people knew right away or had crazy stories of God telling them, but I wasn't like that. When I heard the options, 2 immediately stuck out. As I prayed about them, I didn't feel as thought I was being called to either one. But I also didn't feel like God was calling me away from them. This frustrated me because God wasn't speaking when I needed him to.
But you know what? He doesn't need this 24-hours to help me make my decision. He was already working in my heart in the days and months beforehand to choose. The two countries I wrote down were not based on a feeling given to me in worship or prayer yesterday, but they were based on where God has given me a heart for in the last few months and cultures and ministries that I have been intrigued about. In the end, I am letting the staff pray about which one I should go to. I have no idea. Both are fantastic. But what I got out of this is trusting God to guide my steps. Even though I may not have seen or heard a specific country, I know He will not let me choose the wrong one.
As long as I desire His perfect will, nothing can go wrong. Release, let go, don't worry. That is the amazing thing about God. When we give our lives to the one who CREATED us, then He will give us that amazing life He had planned for us all along. Why would you want anything different? If you are going to God about a decisions, do not be discouraged if you are not getting answers! Know that God has been molding you. Everyday He has been teaching you. He will not let you fall off His path if you truly want Him. Ask for wisdom and God will give you that!
