The more we see, the more we love you

Sitting in the Washington-Dulles airport. Left Friday night at 9pm. Arrived in Los Angeles at 5am. Arrived in DC at 2pm.

We headed off with Team Ireland which was such a blessing because some of my closest friends are on that team. Got to ride all the way to Los Angeles with them. Checking into the Kona aiport was a fun ride...I had spent the day helping some of the girls figure out how to get 20 pounds of stuff out of each of their luggage so they didn't have to pay a $200 over weight fee. It was the moment of truth...the dreaded scale.
Luckily, with some switching around at the airport and filling up the guys' bags even more, it all worked out. Except...for Jeanette's bags. There was no way around it, her bag was 23 pounds over weight...big fee and she had to pay it. But right as she was paying it the man at the counter told her the machine just broke and was unable to charge her card. She could check it for free. YEAH. Go God.

And then on the way to Dulles, Ryan had to check his carry-on because there was no room in the overhead bins. However, his passport and tickets were left in it and it was being checked. So there was a little moment of panic when we reached Dulles. Had to find that bag...out of all the luggage at the airport. Him and Eli talked to some people and they couldn't find his bag.
After prayer and a little bit later, they called his name over the speakers and they were able to find his bag and he got his passport and everything he needed! Praise the Lord.

Now we still sit here at the Dulles airport still. Our plane was suppose to leave an hour ago...however there is something wrong with the cabin door pressure or whatnot. They don't have the part needed here. And they don't have a person qualified to fix it. Therefore, they need to fly in someone and the part from the Newark airport...Our plane is now scheduled to leave at 11pm. Got 5 more hours. But it's all good. Faith journey! There's a reason it's delayed. We don't need to be there at any time anyways. So now we just sit at the gate surrounded by lots of Europeans. I think they think we are crazy because it's all older people and we laugh a lot.
Amanda bought sleeping pills to take on the plane. And she took them and then 5 minutes later we found out we were delayed. The medicine knocked her out.

It's really cool seeing all the photos being posted by the other teams! They are all in their countries now I believe. Some we won't have contact with until we are back in Kona but others have blogs. Check out the list of team blogs on the side of this page!!!
Aloha.
