September 14th, 2011

Just a few random things.

First of all, please check out this documentary called Sex + Money about sex trafficking in the United States. Made by YWAMers from the Kona campus who are part of the PhotogenX company here. We just got to watch the whole film in a screening in class since one of the girls used to be part of the Awaken staff! This is how I heard about YWAM...from looking into joining the PhotogenX DTS but God had other plans for me. Anyways, this project is absolutely amazing and eye-opening. Just watch the trailer!

To find out more about the project, please visit the website http://sexandmoneyfilm.com

Let's see...what else...So as part of the team, we are all assigned roles for the trip. We are a family helping with everything. Roles like finances, prayer, worship leader, etc. My role is, of course, photography. I don't think there is anyone else on my team who really like photography so I am excited to do this. Truly experiencing photojournalism.

Along with that responsibility, I will also be the person on the team working for 4K World Map. This is a little complicated to explain. So YWAM Kona started a project a few years ago to "track the world's physical and spiritual needs through Omega Zones, for the entire body of Christ to use." By splitting up the world into 4,000 zones, they use these to more successfully spread the gospel by seeing what is available and what is not there. The ultimate goal is having this map for Christian workers and ministries to look up and area and seeing what has been done there and what still needs to be done. Completing the Great Commission!

Anyways, their website just lauched last Wednesday. This is a big project that is working with other groups around the world. It's going to be an amazing tool. This is also the first DTS in YWAM being trained to bring back information for the map. One person on each team is in charge of know which Omega Zones we will be traveling to and recording what types of ministry we do there, what are needs that need to be met, and any other information we can give to the future of missions in that area.

Everyone, I have a few friends that are still in need of financial support for their outreaches to Ireland and Israel! If you would like to help these amazing men and women of God reach their goal and be able to go on their mission, please contact me! Everyone's money is due TOMORROW and some are still in need of over $1000. If this is something you can help with, that would be amazing! Even $10 goes a long way! THANKS! :)
